Transforming Urban Spaces

Transforming Urban Spaces for the Future
ABOUT US
At Urbace, we believe every urban space holds the potential for transformation
Jailendra is the Founder of Urbace, a boutique urban development and infrastructure advisory firm. Driven by the belief that every urban place can be transformed with strong, tailored support to local governments, he founded Urbace to bridge the gap between policy, planning, and on-ground action.
With over two decades of experience in the infrastructure sector, he has worked across a diverse portfolio spanning ports, highways, airports, industrial parks, urban development, solid waste management, water supply, wastewater management, and smart cities. His expertise covers public-private partnerships, project development, climate-sensitive master planning, techno-commercial viability assessment, project structuring, and contract management.
Prior to founding Urbace, he led strategic advisory and planning assignments with leading global consulting firms including ILFS, EY and The Boston Consulting Group. He has collaborated extensively with international development partners such as the ADB, World Bank, IFC, WRI, JICA, and DFID.
A notable chapter of his career includes his role in the core group at the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (India), where he contributed to the nationwide rollout of India’s flagship Smart Cities Mission — shaping urban innovation frameworks across 100 cities.
Jailendra holds both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in Civil Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras.
